5 Books you should try for Personal Development

6 Books You Should Try for Personal Development

This books are listed in no order. They are recommended for different groups of people according to preferences and whether you are new to this genre of self-help books.

  • Mark Manson´s  The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fxck

This book is the game-changer for me. As stated on the title "A Counter-intuitive Approach to living a Good Life" The book is not like every other self-help/ self development books out there. It takes a different approach to teach us how to live life to its fullest.
Not only is this book funny but it aims of to help the reader to think a little bit more clearly about what they’re choosing to find important in life and what they’re choosing to find unimportant.I recommend this book for people who are stressed/ find themselves stuck in life and want to improve life.

One part of the book i really liked was, i quote

"Ironically, this fixation on the positive—on what’s better, what’s superior—only serves to remind us over and over again of what we are not, of what we lack, of what we should have been but failed to be. After all, no truly happy person feels the need to stand in front of a mirror and recite that she’s happy. She just is."

In other words, by only fixating yourself on the positive aspects of life,  it would only remind us that we failed and remind uf that we have negative parts in our life. The book further says that it is important to embrace your failures, and understand that you may not be right about everything but everyone is also that way.

  • Who says you can't, You do by David Chidiac
I recommend this book if you are planning to have a big career change in your life. This book will give you the drive to make that change and chase your goals.

There's a quote in this book which i really enjoy, i quote

"Our main mission in life is not to try and hold onto the concept of 'happiness' but rather to pursue and discover a self-worth"

The book uses pretty rudimentary pyschological notions, which is perfect for the reader. This makes it so straight forward to realize your downfalls...it is pretty simple and easy to understand what he is getting at. There are exercises in the book which really help us to actually follow the book, understand it and benefit from it. Even if this might not be for everyone, but they definitely aided me in my own journey through life.

  • You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life

This is a Self-help book for people who desperately want to improve their lives but dont want to get Busted doing it.

I will definitely recommend this book to you if you are new to this whole ides of self-help books.

The point Jen Sincero makes in this self-help book is we are all great, we all have enormous potential, we all possess the power to succeed at absolutely everything we direct our energy towards, but we are also our very own obstacle. Ms. Sincero identifies common thought processes and behaviors that keep us from living a truly awesome life and she coaches the reader on how to identify them, replace them, and move forward like a badass.

If you feel like you don't value yourself enough, read this book. If you feel like you are not living life to its fullest, read this book. But if you are already familiar with the whole genre of self-help books, i would discourage you from buying the book, this is because it is not necessarily a very completed and full book(since it mainly only focuses on power and energy we have) for people who have already read many self-help books.

  • How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
This book definitely change your perception towards people around & also it teaches you a lot how you see & judge other.  the techniques described in the book aren't duplicitous.

We all try to do what the title says, just like everyone else, whether we're admitting it to ourselves or not. Readers are repeatedly encouraged to develop genuine interest in others, be honest and ethical, and obey the golden rule.
I recommend this book to people who want to buildtheir self esteem but many people have commented that this book gives them the feeling that they are manipulating people into being your friends.

  • The Power of Habit

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

it is a very informative with a lot of details but nevertheless has a nice touch about it ,it giving
you all the details in a 'story teller' kind of way.

It is a great book for people who like it when books uses research to back what is said.  The reason it’s such a good book is because it uses research to explain how habits are formed and changed. Everyone knows someone who was out of shape, or was a smoker, and then in what appeared as if almost overnight, changed themselves in a short period of time. How did they do that? They formed new habits and changed old ones, that’s how.

But some have said that this book jumps from point to point, back and forth, when it could have been a straight forward book.

Additionally i would like to recommend this book which i am currently reading. Unfxck Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Life

The only way to really know what these books are about is to go read them! If you find yourself interested in any of them, go get it. It might be life-changing for you, but then again it might not, but why miss the chance of reading a great book just because others don't like it?

Hope you found this helpful! What else can i help you with today? Want to learn new things? or if you just want to read more articles.

5 Steps to Being Productive

5 Steps to Being Productive Firstly, What is being Productive? Productivity is often describes a person's capability to do a lot of work, but is can refer to anything that produces a lot. A Productive day would mean to complete more things in a less amount of time but also doing it effectively.   Productivity is the amount of output produced per work hour. In other words, the calculation is: Productivity = output / work hours. Here are some points to remember, Sleep. Sleep more. I know it can be tempting to stay up at night to do whatever do but you would wake up the next day feeling more exhausted. Its hard to be productive while yawning and trying to stay awake. I suggest you have at least 6-8 hours of sleep a day. It will also be better if you regulate your sleeping schedule and sleep at the same time everyday even if it is the weekends and also wake up at the same time if possible. Plan out your week.  It’s extremely important to plan you...
