How can I be More Positive and Happy?

How can I be More Positive and Happy

I am going to be sharing with you some habits that you can adopt to make yourself feel and be more happy and positive.
One of the first few things i started to work on with my personal development was to improve my outlook on life.
I didn't use to be  always the most positive person, but ever since i started to be okay with who i am and accept life for what it is, i have realized that i am more positive and a overall more care-free and happy person.

1. Find the optimistic viewpoint in a negative situation.

But that does not mean that you completely erase the fact that it is a negative situation. You should embrace the fact that you are going through a negative situation but also see the good points in whatever the negative situation is.

When you are in a negative situation, or made a bad decision, you can ask yourself a few things..
  • What can i learn from this?
  • What is one thing that is positive about the situation?

That way you will condition yourself to be okay with a negative situation but not okay enough to do nothing about it. Definitely don't try to force on yourself positive ways of thinking while you are still in an emotional turmoil, as it would probably not end up how you like it.

2.Learn to take criticism in a healthy way.

One of the most common fear is the fear of criticism. One of the most common fears is the fear of criticism. It can hold people back from doing what they want in life, because the criticism can hurt.

Criticism is pretty much unavoidable, no matter what you do, there would always be criticism. Therefore, the key is learning to handle it in a healthier way. So that it would hurt less when one gets criticized no matter what it is for.

These are some things you can do to better react to criticism,
  • Don't reply straight away.
When you feel angry or sad at something someone said, you would likely do something you might regret by acting on how you feel at that point. So, take a few deep breathes, calm yourself down and process the message before you respond.
  • Understand the criticism
Read into those criticism to see if those comments can help you.
Ask yourself if there is anything that you can learn from this, if no, ignore the comment but if yes listen to it since it could help you.
  • Criticism might not always be about you remember that
Some times criticism says more about the people giving those comments more than the person receiving the comments. The person could just be having a really bad day and decided to take it out on you. But that does not mean that it is okay for someone to do that. Try to be understanding for the other person.

3. Be Okay with yourself. Completely.

Know that you aren't perfect and you make mistakes but are still successful in life. Accept the things you don't like about yourself, if needed and if you want to, change for yourself. Love yourself, even for your insecurities.

You can make a list of all the things you love about yourself. And take pride in those things, your strengths. Embracing your individuality, and avoid comparing yourself to others as it would not make you feel good about yourself. You can develop a healthy mindset about yourself by thinking of 2 or 3 positive thoughts to fight every one negative thought. Focus less on your appearance and more on self-development.

4.Mindfully move through your days

Spend time in the present moment, appreciate life. It would be easier to feel and be positive that way. By Putting in your full attention to everything you do it could help you be mindful in those activities.
When you get lost in the past or future like so many of us have spent a lot of time on doing then worries very easily become bigger. And failures and mistakes from the past being replayed over and over in your mind drag you down into pessimism.

5. Start your days in a positive way
Definitely try not to start your day on a negative note by looking at comments or social media. How you start you day usually sets the tone for the whole day.
You could start meditating, take some time in the morning to clear your mind. That would give you a clear mind and a good start to your day.

Maybe go out for a walk in the park.
Maybe try doing something you really enjoy doing in the morning. For example, it might be a sport, for me it is cycling ,if you follow my blog you would know, so i make it a point to cycle every morning especially so on the weekends. That never fails to kick start my day and make me feel happy and have positive thoughts.

So go, start your day with positivity! With something that you enjoy!
