Why Wake Up at 5 in the morning? And How?
I used to be the typical teen, sleeping only 6 hours a day with very unhealthy sleeping habits. I used to sleep at 12 and wake up at 6 in the morning for school and if it was a weekend, I would sleep in till 10am, only to be awakened by my mother shouting at me to wake up.Of course, it wasn’t easy changing my wake up time from a late 10am to an early 5am, but I did with a little determination and resisting myself from pressing that snooze button and heading straight back to bed.
This is how it used to be at 10am on weekends

Woke up feeling groggy and horrible, that was because I slept late and did not get enough sleep.
But now,

By sleeping earlier and shifting your sleeping time forward, you would have an extra 2-3 hours in the day. That time could be used for time alone or could be used to exercise
Things to take note of when waking up early
Things to take note of when waking up early
- Plan Ahead.
The day before, plan out what you would be doing the next morning, that way you would not have nothing to do the next morning. When you have something to do, you would feel more inclined to wake up early and complete that task. While if you do not have anything planned, you would easily find yourself slipping straight back into slumber.

- Exercise in the morning
By exercising in the morning, you would feel more active and more productive and ready to take on the days problems.

- Jump out of bed
This might sound dumb but jumping out of bed gives you the energy and the great kick start to the day you really need when waking up early.
Don’t use social media
NO matter how hard it is to resist going on to social media platforms right when you wake up, you have to put in the effort to not pick up your phone. When awake, immediately jump out of bed and start your day with whatever you enjoy doing that does not involve social media.
- Meditate.
Now you would have a load of extra time, at that time, you can pick up meditating. I would recommend anyone to start meditating. Meditating brings me personally a sense of calmness and relaxation in as little as 5 minutes. Even going on a quiet walk in the park would be considered as meditation as long as you are relaxing and controlling your breathing
